This is really critical testimony, and it is important that all readers understand what this article is saying. The Messiah HAD to have come BEFORE AD 70 (or even before that, by the time of Herod) after which the Jews could no longer govern themselves, could not set up their own kings, and could no longer carry out the sacrifices under the Law. After those events, the prophecies in the Tanakh show that Messiah could not come. Jews have always understood those passages in that way.
